Well i have just discovered the crazy world of Twitter and wanted to do a review on the social network. How Twitter works is unlike any other social networks.

What you do is open a free account, and you can post really short comments about what your doing during the day in 140 characters or less.
It’s like an update about all the things in life we usually don’t share. Like watching a tv show, making the bed, or going to the pub for example. The things we leave out of our usual life, Twitter allows people to be kept up to date on the little things we are doing now.

Also do you use Wordpress because you can be keep your Twitter account up to date with your blog. This is with the handy plugin Twitter Tools by Alex King. This allows every new post to be shown in your twitter account for what you are doing now. As like even with this post a Twitter update will be shown shortly after i have published this post.
“Twitter me this and Twitter me that…”
Not sure as yet if it will be good with business updates for my blog, but it sure is an interesting concept in social networking.
If you wish to keep in touch with Me or the Buyers Web blog on Twitter or to sign up click here. People beware Twitter can be addictive, so use with caution. Move over Facebook welcome to Twitter.
Ahhh…i have to write this post, i can’t take it any more lol…Why do some people over do there advertising on there website or blog? Well i can sort of see the the writing through the the advertising on that blog. When someone said put some advertising on there blog, they sure did go for it…hehehe jokes…
Are you killing your website…some people are…?
- Don’t overdo your page with bidvertiser or adsense, less is better…
- Make it so you can see your writing predominantly through the advertising
- Don’t use popups…who out there likes popups??
- Make it so the logo is easy to see over the advertising too
- Make the ads or affiliate banners compatible with the template
- Make your writing easy to look at so when reading its not too bright…grey is good…
- Unless your getting heaps of traffic, don’t use much contextual advertising? Build traffic first…
- Also with affiliate banners keep them to a minimum unless they suit your template and there’s no point overdoing it unless you have the traffic as well…
Well here are some the major influences for your website, the key here is the balance… Like the Goldilocks story, not to hot not to cold, it has to be just right. You have to remember all this advertising is links off your website, so don’t kill your own traffic.
- 3 Good Affiliate banners max, that blend well with template..If your getting heaps of traffic like over 500 a day, then maybe up it to 4 then as traffic grows so does the advertising…
- if you use Google adsense or bidvertiser then just one ad spot, maybe at the bottom of your posts or on a website under categories…Blend these ads to your website theme also…
- As time progresses and traffic grows work out how much advertising works for you best, play with options for your website. If a Affiliate banner gets no sales then stop using it..
In conclusion finding the balance is the key to all aspects of business… Remember if you are going to use alot of advertising, then design your website for people as well.
We all have seen all these contextual advertising companies online, especially Google AdSense. They all seem to have gotten very popular on blogs and websites alike. We all have our own opinion on these contextual Companies, which one is better…? Which one suits my website more? Let’s first look at there differences.
“Personally myself i prefer Kontera Advertising and Bidvertiser in look and payment options…”
There an in content form of advertising used in content on a website. Kontera are seen by the double line that they use on keywords in content. They blend well into websites and don’t seem to make the website look spammy which is good. The bonus with Kontera ads is they open in a new window. An example of kontera can be seen here.
We all know Google Adsense, its the block of ads we see in websites all over the the internet. They contextually match the websites page and are very popular on all types of webites. There contextual matching is awesome to individual pages. In fact i can’t think of a company that has matched there contextual system out there in how they match your page.
The negative side of Google Adsense is they don’t open there ads in a new window, and therefore the website loses the reader or customer. That’s a big one, you want to keep your customers or readers on your website, not lose them.
Well not as popular as Google Adsense or Kontera lately, Bidvertiser are still a great contender. Although there ads are not fully contextual they go by category and then by relevance. They look very similar to Google Adsense in the way they are presented . There most positive aspect is they have a good anti click fraud system to ensure the publisher is safe and advertiser by detecting ips and blocking too many clicks from one ip.
Such a good bonus that one, as it stops negative effects from random ips from effecting your account. Without being too controversial this is a possible aspect Google Adsense should work on to protect there publishers as well as the advertisers from click fraud.
Also if you sign up to be a publisher, Bidvertiser publisher ads, open in New window and payout can be into a Paypal account for as low as $10. You can also promote your Website with BidVertiser and Get $20 in FREE clicks.
Which contextual advertising do you think is better? Even from a readers point of view which do you prefer?
