I know they may gather people more website email subscribers or RSS readers or whatever offer they want to bombard people with, however I don’t know about you but I am pretty quick draw on clicking away if ever one pops up. It is just like a knee jerk reaction I guess. “Oh, not another website pop up..” Click..Go..

What gets me thinking is if those that do sign up to these pop up newsletters, do they continue to annoy the reader or visitor after this? I am sure they do as they pop up each time I return to visit these sites. “Oh heck, I already signed up, can this stop popping up each time I visit.. Okay, okay, I am leaving..”

It feels like this though, don’t you agree ?

Not only do Website Pop ups drive me crazy, but I am sure I am not the only one that has been effected by there annoyance. If you are annoyed by them vote above or comment your thoughts below. Maybe If I get enough good votes some people may stop using them, who knows..?

What is a Website Pop Up?

If you are totally unsure of what a website Pop Up is, it is when a small box pops up just after a website load. It usually will offer you a special offer or a newsletter subscription or sometimes even both. Webmasters use them generally to bombard visitors with this in the face marketing tactic to get more views and increase conversion of an offer.

The new Alexa just got way better! For so many reasons lately I have been ignoring the Alexa Search engine and system mainly because of two factors. They use MSN for search and because the Alexa Score ranking for all my sites went totally out of whack.

Now everything seems to be fixing slowly. It looks like what happened to most people was when changing to there new system algorithm it effected a lot of peoples Alexa scores. If you have not seen the new Alexa yet, you can see it at my Buyers Web Alexa Profile Page as an example here.

The new features are awesome, so many more options and statistics about a website and in particular one that drew my eye was the Avg. Time on Site. It estimates the duration of time on a website conducted per average visitor. Whether this is fully accurate or not it gives a great indication of what to try to increase. When you think about it each minute that this number is increased means more benefits to all your readers and to your website success. And the best bit about this website stat is it is updated daily by Alexa.

Buyers-web.com – It makes sense to show my own Alexa Stats first, showing most visitors stay for just over 10 minutes. I need to work on that figure.. I am in the Make Money Online and Blogging Tips niche.

Lyndsaycabildo.com – Wow check out her Avg time on Site Stat.. 28.5 Minutes.. Lyndsay is a Blogger friend that I have been helping to make money online from her blog. She is in the fashion niche.

Johnchow.com – If this is accurate, most of John Chows visitors do not stay very long… 3.4 minutes.. John has an excellent Traffic Rank.. John is in the Make Money Online niche.

Jovieblog.blogspot.com – Jovie is an online blogger friend of mine. Her Average visitor stay for her visitors is 4.3 minutes. She also has been online since 2000, same as John Chow…

Mobile Phones are going Solar!

Many mobile phone companies are taking this new green campaign on including some of the big brand names such as Samsung and LG..  Samsung’s one exceeding most aspects, being lightweight, having a green mode for saving power and the body of the phone is made from recycled plastic bottles..

I can only imagine where this new move in technology will go as it progresses.. Especially in countries where getting power to your mobile is not as easy to get to as the western world.. And imagine the benefits of solar powered mobile phones for those going on long camping trips or those living in restricted power zones..?

Possibly in the not so near future, Laptops will be solar powered, TVs or anything we use today commonly.. Who knows where it will lead next, however I believe mobile phones going Solar is a great beginning move for better human technology..
