Well the new Mediatext is here, a similar sort of advertising system to Kontera… If you have not heard of either Mediatext or Kontera, they are a ppc advertising program which works in content. They are noticeable by the double line in keywords in text in some websites… When you hover over the link a small related ad displays in a small box…
Basically advertisers pay to have ads in the form of links on websites and publishers make when people (readers) click on the ads. A win win for both advertiser and publisher… One of the main reasons these two programs are becoming so popular is because they don’t take up advertising space on your website.
If you are a Website Owner, can you Make Money?
With either program the money potential is good however with the comparisons i will be doing over the next couple of months i will look at the benefits of both programs. That way the publisher or advertiser can make a better decision of either program. Some may prefer Mediatext while others may prefer Kontera. I am currently making money with Kontera on a number of my other websites. What this comparison will show me is which one is more suitable for my blog (this blog).
First of all benefits of both Mediatext Vs Kontera at First look –
- Both Mediatext and Kontera open ads in new window… To implement this in Kontera click here.. For Mediatext Publishers this can be implemented in the admin section in your Mediatext account.
- Both don’t take up advertising space for publishers..
- Both relevant to content

Differences of Mediatext Vs Kontera at first Glance
- At first glance Mediatext ads look impressive.. Kontera ads look good however the image in the ad makes a huge difference with Mediatext.
- Residual referral program of Mediatext has huge earning potential
- Mediatext cuts the revenue 50 /50 giving publishers higher returns.. Unsure what Kontera gives but there payment has always been good per click…
- 25 dollars minumum payout to paypal for Publishers of Mediatext. Kontera is 100 dollars minimum payout..
The referral program of Mediatext has already gotten me very interested in their program. You earn 5% commission off all Publishers you refer to the program (for life). They also pay whether the Publisher is active or Passive…
The Test…
To begin with, i will implement Mediatext on my blog here in the next few days and see how they perform in comparison to Kontera. I will look at all aspects ROI, CPM, Click levels and referral earnings. I will let you know how it all goes…

Looks like Mediatext is shutting down.
Hey David,
Yes i just recieved an email a couple of days ago saying they had, hopefully not too many people lost money from them… I will write a post on them in the next few days. Looks like Kontera won this one, better overall option.
Just an update on this post now that media text has shut down, I recommend going with Infolinks instead of Kontera as they pay much better and there ads load better.
